The Association has one meeting each year. It is normally the second weekend of September. Detailed information for this meetings is usually available about 1 month before the meeting. We try to have a copy on this page in a downloadable pdf format.

Meetings Schedule

The next meeting is September 18, 2010, hosted by Worthington tree farm in Hampton, GA. On the farm tour, you will see Fraser fir and several other species of grafted fir growing south of Atlanta, GA, as well as Virginia pine grown from rooted cuttings. Dr. John Frampton, the Fraser fir guru from N.C. State, will speak about their work in the selection of superior strains of Virginia pine and their success in vegetative propagation by rooting. Dr. Mark Czarnota from the Georgia Experiment Station in Griffin, GA will speak on the use of herbicides in Christmas tree production. Dr. Dennis Hazel, also from NC State, who will report on extensive work they have been doing using herbicides in “chemical mowing”.
Tree farmers from neighboring states are welcome to attend this meeting.
